The most surprising thing about when I became a mom was how difficult it was to find a new normal. You don't go back to the life you had, it's all dramatically different. But amazing.
what do you wish someone else had told you about parenting so you would be better prepared?
I would have liked to have been briefed on how weird parallel play is. It still amazes me that children will play next to one another and scarcely interact.
what is your biggest accomplishment you are most proud of? (does not have to be about your kids!)
I think being myself and authentic to my true self is the hardest thing I've ever done. I'd like my son to emulate that. Additionally, I worked really hard to grow in my career and I'm really proud of the work I do.
what is your biggest pet peeve?
if you had a day kid free to do anything you want, what would you do?
I have a lot of those because of my job. It's not as fun as they seemed when I was a SAHM. Usually, I go to the supermarket, go to appointments. Nothing too exciting. I prefer to spend my time not working with my family because being away just isn't as much fun.
