M.O.M.- Jenna

Jenna is a mom to two gals, coffee lover, Arizona native, and the blogger behind Espresso Ever After.

what was the thing that surprised you most when
you became a mom?
I was most surprised at how much I LOVE being a mom! I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I had no idea how fulfilling it really is.  No matter how nervous you are pre-baby, once your little bundle is placed in your arms you are hooked by a deep connection beyond words. Motherhood is a magical journey, and I believe it is the most important and BEST use of my time.

what do you wish someone had told you about parenting

so you would be better prepared?

There is no such thing as perfection in mommy-hood.  Do your best, love with everything you have, be present in the moment and you will do great!  Just like any other role in life, you will have bad days and amazing days... and know you are doing a great job mama!

what is your biggest accomplishment you are most proud of?

I am most proud that I have been able to be a work-from-home mom.  I have been able to watch and be there for every moment and milestone in both of my girls' lives, all while creating a successful mommy-lifestyle blog and business. What a blessing, and I definitely don't take this opportunity for granted.  I love what I do and I adore being a mom, and I keep both roles close to my heart. I am very thankful!

what is your biggest pet peeve?
Moms who bring their children to playgrounds and don't pay attention to them has definitely become a pet-peeve of mine since becoming a mom.  Mom's, put your phones down! Stay attentive and enjoy that time watching your little one's imagination go wild.  Encourage them, support them, and join in the fun... they know when you are not paying attention to them and they desperately crave our affection and attention.  The early years go by fast, and before you know it they will be in full-time school, don't miss out on that special time!
if you had a day kid free to do anything you want,
what would you do?
A kid free day! Wow- what is that?  Just kidding!  I would do the normal activities that I loved and took for granted pre-kids.  A coffee date with a girlfriend, shopping at multiple stores (including trying clothes on), a mani/pedi, seeing a new release in the movie theater, and of course a meal at a restaurant...no drive-thru!!  It really is the simple things in life!
